Forbes Home Loss - Sanford, MI Dam Break
Donation protected
The Forbes Family of Sanford, MI have lost their home and everything that they own to the flooding that has been prevalent in the news that was cause by a dam break near Midland.
Midland Michigan is a place I have always known about but never visited. My cousin, Chris Forbes moved there with his mom when we were very young. A few mornings ago, I saw the news and Midland was front and center. The Sanford Dam failed, and Chris’ house is about two blocks away. Chris, Laura and their daughter Cassidy evacuated in time and are safe, but their home has been destroyed by the flood. Please keep them in your prayers, Cassidy is a senior this year – what a year to celebrate graduation… Again, please keep Chris, Laura and Cassidy in your prayers, they have a lot to do to get caught up.
I can't imagine how much this will cost to restore them to their former life. I know that their daughter Cassidy is planning to go to college this fall. Again, what a year to graduate - between a pandemic and a natural disaster, she will certainly remember her senior year of high school! Seems more like the Jumanji movie than real life. But this is real life. Chris, Laura and Cassidy are staying with friends now - it's great to have helpful friends!
I am setting up this effort to try and offset some of the expenses that will certainly come in the near future. If you are able, please consider donating something to this family. I hope that this will help get them back to some sort of normal very soon.
You can read about the dam here: https://www.mlive.com/news/saginaw-bay-city/2020/05/flooding-in-michigan-everything-we-know-about-midland-county-dam-break.html.
Thank you for considering providing help, I appreciate it and I am certain the Chris and Laura will as well.
