For the amazing hardworking Becky Robbins

Becky Robbins is a beautiful Maine artist who has dedicated her life to the well being of others. She’s the loving partner of Clay Harvey and Mom to their two teenagers, Konnor and River. She loves creating art, knitting and designing patterns, camping, writing, traveling and hiking. Becky is an adventurous and intelligent soul, who makes everyone feel welcomed and loved.
Unfortunately, last fall two discs ruptured in her neck at the c4-5 and c5-6 levels, severely compressing her nerves and spinal cord, and she was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and myelopathy, which is an injury to the spinal cord. Seven months ago, in December, she had a two level artificial disc replacement surgery that went very well and seemed to be a success. But just a couple months into her recovery she began to have new symptoms related to her spinal cord that worsened throughout the spring and summer, including pain and weakness in her legs and arms and a mean prickly feeling in the palms of her hands and soles of her feet that makes touching and walking extremely painful.
She also has severe pain in her neck, back and hips, and balance issues that make walking difficult.
Becky met with the neurosurgeon on 8/6 and it turns out that the ruptured discs and the surgery seven months ago caused another damaged level of her neck, her c3-4, to more severely compress her spinal cord, causing worsening myelopathy. So she’s scheduled to have another neck surgery on 8/19, this time a fusion of two vertebrae with screws and a metal plate. She hasn’t been able to work much at all since last fall because of the pain and loss of dexterity in her hands, and now she’s facing more months of recovery. Her medical issues have restricted her from doing the things she loves to do, especially art and writing. Throughout all of this she impresses us every day with her high spirits and the love she gives.
Our family has faced a lot this past year and we hope you’ll keep our beautiful Becky in your thoughts and prayers. Our finances have been seriously strained and we’d be extremely grateful for any help you can give. We’d also appreciate it if you could share this GoFundMe link with your friends and family. We’ll be sure to post updates and photos as Becky gets her strength back each month.
We would also like to invite you all to check out Becky’s artwork and poetry at her website, beckrobbins.com. She also has some amazing pieces on display at Table Rock Art Center in Bethel, Maine if you happen to be in the area.
