For Zach, my special needs nephew, who's Mom died

"Oh ffs, this asshole is asking for help again."

Yeah, I don't want to be here either, but this isn't for me. It's for my nephew, who I've ended up taking care of. He's 34, mentally disabled, and lost his mom in August. I'm all he's got left, so pity him for that. I hate that I'm here again, after working so hard not to be. But this isn't my pity party.

Why does he need help? Zachs social security was cut off in June. Still haven't figured out why, but we are in the process of fixing it. Paperwork is being processed to make me his payee, and get things rolling again. That takes time tho. We're also waiting for insurance payouts that should be coming by hopefully next month. Zach and my sisters bank accounts were cleaned out by the lady who was supposed to be the probate in the event of my sister's death, but she took the money and dumped the responsibilities in my lap. My nephew has been living off my money, and after myself becoming disabled and then let go a few months back, I'm tapped yall.

I didn't know things would take this long, nor be this messed up. I'm currently working for a registry (I dont collect disability or SS) and I'm barely holding it all together. As of this month, I'm fully broke in fact. Bills are mostly paid (thanks dtoid), as is food/pet care, for the moment. But more are here already, and more are coming. That's his bills, not mine, btw. I'm trying to make my stuff work, but I can't handle my household and his, along with a busted knee and heart, at this moment. Tried to get food stamps again this morning for him, but was still denied as he's supposed to be getting SS. Even had the letter showing the cancelation. Way to go system. FFS.

Anyways, that's the story for the most part. The lovely folks at Destructoid (the community, not the site itself), helped out so much this month, and gave me the push to make this. My goal is just to get my nephew through January, and maybe have a little Christmas for us. Thank you for reading, and thank you Dtoid community. I love you all.

What will you use the money for? As mentioned above, I need to pay bills, and provide food for everyone (3 of us, 2 homes, plus pets) until next month. Food closets have helped a bit, but the demand in this area, means I've gone home empty handed a few times. I'm not looking for anything crazy, Christmas is canceled in the house, due to all this shit, so that's not a worry (I bought the boy a present back in Sept. anyway, as times were good then). Just trying to help this dude survive, thrive, and stop myself from stressing every second.
