On May 5th, 2025, our family experienced an unimaginable loss. Xavier Donnell Sterling — a devoted father, a beloved son and brother, and a proud U.S. military veteran — was tragically shot and killed outside of Chances Nightclub in Hampton, VA. He was just 29 years old and leaves behind two beautiful daughters who now face a future without their father. This memorial fund is being created to honor Xavier’s life, service, and legacy, and to help our family give him the farewell he deserves.

Xavier Donnell Sterling lived a life full of heart, purpose, and honor. At just 29 years old, he had already made a deep impact — not only through the love he gave to his family, but also through his service to this country. As a proud veteran of the U.S. military, Xavier stood for something greater than himself. He served with strength, courage, and dedication, and carried those same qualities into every part of his life.

He was a devoted father to two young daughters who were the center of his world. Xavier worked hard to provide for them and guide them, and his greatest joy came from watching them grow. He was also a loving brother, a son, and a friend — known for his loyalty, his sense of humor, and a smile that could brighten any room.

On the night of May 5th, 2025, Xavier’s life was taken from us in a senseless act of gun violence outside of Chances Nightclub in Hampton, VA. Our hearts are shattered. We are grieving the loss of his life, his future, and the memories that will now never be made — birthdays, graduations, and everyday moments with his daughters.

This fundraiser is to help us give Xavier the memorial he deserves — one that honors the man he was, the father he became, and the service he gave to his country. All donations will go toward funeral expenses and supporting the needs of his daughters during this devastating time.
