For Winnie! #teamwin

My Sister in law Bailey gave birth to her sweet baby girl last week on September 8th. Her and her husband knew before she was born that she had heart complications but I don’t think any of us knew how hard it was all going to be. The name of this beautiful baby girl is Winslow Cynthia Bernards. Her name Winslow was given to her because she has been a fighter to even get here and is slowly fighting to win at life. Her parents have always had a mantra of #teamwin in their household and have named their baby girl after the idea of being #teamwin. Winnie has a heart defect called

pulmonary atresia/truncus arteriosus which will require multiple surgeries to correct; most likely at least 3 major heart surgeries before the age of 10 and require intervention/monitoring as she gets older for the rest of her life. She also has a VSD in the lower chambers of her heart which will require surgery to fix as well. Before she was born they had planned on a certain heart surgery but couldn’t be sure of it until she was born and were able to get all the details before they went in. They ended up not be able to do the original surgery they wanted and will need to wait until she’s bigger and stronger. Monday the doctors were able to go in and give a temporary fix with her arteries that connect to her lungs, the tissue was scarredred badly but they did the best they could. Winnie will be in the hospital until further notice. Ben and Bailey are busy traveling to and from the hospital, about an hour from there home each day to visit their daughter. They could use any help at all to help with their expenses for traveling, food, hospital bills, etc… anything would be gratefully appreciated. And please please keep them all in your prayers, they can already feel all the love and support of their family and friends.
