For past 7 years, Wenny Lee, Palliative and Hospice certified NP, has been devoting her career on treating and supporting patients and families suffering from cancer. She is one of the BEST Palliative/Hospice NP not only because she is extremely knowledgeable but also because she can explain to patients and families about disease progress and treatment options at the human level, with great compassion, empathy and authority. She has just moved to California in 2018 to start a new life with her then fiancé, Dane. They got married in March 2019 and had their honeymoon during Christmas 2019.
Wenny was shaken and frightened to the core when she found out that her husband and her have become potential cancer victims on 12/26/19 while they were on the way to start their honeymoon. Dane was subsequently diagnosed with brain cancer with brain tumors already in both sides of the brain.
With all the oncology experience and knowledge, Wenny is even more scared because she knows too well how things can change drastically. The role has shifted now from a provider to patient.
Dane is one of the kindest human beings. He's always considerate of other people. He treats people with kindness, and he has a gentle soul. He's had a tough life living in Oklahoma before moving to Utah and met Wenny. THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN TO HIM.
Since Dane's diagnosis, things changed quickly. Dane is no longer able to work due to recent brain surgery and he will start chemo/radiation shortly. Wenny is the sole caregiver for him. They're now down to 1/4 of their original income as Wenny is not able to full time so she can take care of Dane while he pursues treatments.
As Wenny's co-workers and friends, we are hoping to give her the support that she has given to over hundreds of patients and families whom she has helped until the end. Anything helps!! This fund will help them pay for medical related costs that can not be covered.
