Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

My name is Sherene Fuller, born in St Elizabeth, Jamaica, the worst-affected community in Jamaica.

I am reaching out with an urgent plea for help for my fellow countrymen and the community in Jamaica, where I was born and raised. Hurricane Melissa has brought unimaginable devastation to the area, leaving many families homeless and without necessities. This disaster has struck painfully close to home — my own family members have been directly affected. My aunt’s house has been destroyed, my nephew has lost his roof and all his belongings, and my 101-year-old father’s hospice has been reduced to rubble.

The entire community is now struggling to survive without electricity, clean water, or sufficient food. Many are left with nothing but the clothes on their backs, sleeping in the open air, with the hope that help will come soon. It breaks my heart to see my loved ones and neighbours suffering in these dire conditions.

My goal with this fundraiser is to:

Provide immediate relief and support to those most affected. It is taking too long for the authorities to get anything meaningful to these remote areas.

The funds raised will go directly towards:

Securing temporary and long-term accommodation by renovating and rebuilding homes.

Shipping essential supplies such as food, bedding, clothing, toiletries, and first aid supplies from London to Jamaica. This will be distributed to those in St. Elizabeth, Hanover, and Manchester, and the surrounding areas.

Every dollar/ pound you contribute will make a real difference and bring hope to families who have lost everything.

I want to assure you that 100% of the funds raised will go directly to the victims of Hurricane Melissa and not get delayed or tied up in red tape. You will be informed and kept abreast of the progress every step of the way.
