For Unexpected Eye Surgeries
Donation protected
Hello Family and Friends,
I am coming to you to ask for financial assistance as I face unexpected health challenges that have led to 3 retina reattachment surgeries and 1 upcoming cataract surgery. Because of this I have not been able to work since February 2022 and I am not sure when I will be able to return. Here is my journey….
For those who may not know, I went to the eye doctor in February because I was having trouble with my peripheral vision. At that time it was discovered that I had a partial detachment of my retina in the right eye which would require surgery to reattach it and prevent complete vision lose. I had the surgery on 2/22/2022. During my recovery, to allow proper healing, I was instructed to hold my head at a specific angle for 45 minutes, with a 15 minute break for every hour of the day, except when I was asleep at night. This meant that I would not be able to work during my recovery.
Upon my return to the doctor for my post-op checkup it was discovered that there was a different area of my retina that had detached in the same eye, making a 2nd surgery necessary. The 2nd surgery was scheduled for 3/8/2022, also requiring me to follow the same instructions for recovery of holding my head at a specific angle for 45 minutes, with a 15 minute break for each hour of the day. This preventing me from returning to work once again.
Unfortunately, during my 2nd surgery post op visit, there was another area discovered that had detached in the same eye, requiring a 3rd surgery. Though this news is challenging, my faith is strong and I have appreciated and continue to appreciate all prayers for my healing. The doctor indicated that this is a rare occurrence but it is needed if I want to retain my eyesight. This of course means that I have not worked since February 22, and will not be able to return to work in the coming months.
With facing mounting medical bills for each surgery and not having a steady income to support myself, I have relied on my parents initially, but due to the prolonged, ongoing nature of my health, I am humbly reaching out to ask for financial help. If you would like to help me, no matter the amount, I ask that you donate to my GoFundMe page. I truly appreciate all of your care and help and would also like to request your prayers for me healing that I might retain my eyesight.
With Great Love,
