Felix Riley Edwards
October 12, 2025 – October 20, 2025

On Marathon Sunday, Tyler and Rebecca welcomed their sweet baby boy, Felix Riley Edwards — quickly nicknamed “FREddie” and “King Felix.”

Little King Felix began his own marathon in the NICU at Lurie’s on October 12th. For 1 week and 2 days, he showed incredible heart and courage, fighting every step of the way and surrounding everyone around him with love. Every single moment of his precious life was filled with warmth, connection, and so much love from his parents, family, and friends.

Felix had his mama’s dark locks and his dad’s family’s notable chin, the perfect mix of both of them. Even in his brief week with us, he carried little glimpses of their spirits: a quiet strength and determination that mirrored his mom, and a friendly spark and way about uniting people that was reminiscent of his dad. In every moment, he reflected the love, courage, and energy of his parents. The nurses in the NICU were constantly vying for their turn to care for him, each one falling in love with the cutest little boy they’d ever seen.

On Wednesday, October 15th, at the height of Felix’s fight — during an important surgery that he bravely survived — the world observed Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. On that day, Felix’s light joined the countless others honored around the world. Though his time here was brief, his love and strength will forever ripple outward, connecting him to families everywhere who hold their little ones close in memory.

Many have already come together to support Tyler and Rebecca through the meal train, and they have felt deeply touched by everyone’s kindness. For those who feel moved to help even more, this fund has been created to help with the time they’ll need away from work, medical and burial expenses, and the many unexpected costs that come with such a heartbreaking loss.

The parents have so much to think about right now — let’s make sure finances are not one of those things. Please pass this along to everyone you know who may want to support and love on Tyler and Rebecca.

There are no words for this kind of pain — but love can help carry some of the weight. Thank you for wrapping Tyler and Rebecca in yours.
