For Tony's Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
To Everyone,
We are asking for help for our dear friends Tony and Maryann Mendoza. Tony has been through years of health issues and has at last been diagnosed with myelofibrosis. This will require a bone marrow transplant and comes with such risk that he will be in the hospital for a minimum of 3 months and then will have to remain within 15 minutes of the hospital for several more. This means housing and 24 hour care is required if and when complications arise. They live in Fairfax and the hospital is in Baltimore. They have a 15 year old daughter who needs to be at home to complete her schooling. Tony wants nothing more than to live to see his daughter grow up. Without this transplant he will not survive. We hate to be blunt but that’s the story.
To make this all work they will need somewhere between $30,000 to $40,000 to take care of the housing and the care when he gets out of the hospital. There are also very expensive drugs that may not be covered by insurance that he will need for the rest of his life. They have exhausted all his medical leave over the 8 years that it took to get to this point. There has already been a huge drain on their finances as Tony has often been unable to work through the years. He has very serious and rare form of cancer that will take his life without this final effort.
Tony and Maryann would not ask for help and have been desperately trying to figure out what to do so we have decided to ask for them.
Please help us with donations to GoFundMe in Tony’s name. All monies donated will go into a fund to help pay for the housing, 24 hour care, medical bills and expensive drugs that will not be covered by the insurance.
Every little bit you can contribute will help.
Thank you so much
