For Tony Poole’s Children
As you may know Tony Poole died on 15th November. Tony was diagnosed with leukaemia last year following a blood test for a potential food allergy! His blood results were just above normal and his hematologist thought he had many years before treatment. But sadly on the 8th of November Tony was admitted to hospital with a fever. It was a harrowing week in which Tony went down hill very fast. The hospital tried to find the cause but it wasn’t until the day before he died they diagnosed him with a very rare condition called HLH.
HLH is caused by a trigger such as an infection or even Cancer. Tony was given 3 rounds of chemotherapy in less than 24 hours and the family were just waiting for signs of improvement when the Consultants said they needed to operate and establish whether a hematoma they had been keeping an eye on was in fact the trigger! Sadly a few seconds into preparations for his operation after the anaesthetic had been administered Tony’s worn out body could not take no more and he died.
Tony was only 41 years old and is survived by his wife Claire, his son Henry 8 years and Daughter Claudia 3 years. They had already been through lots of heartache with the loss of Ted, Claire’s Dad whom they lived with, just 1 month beforehand to an aggressive brain tumour. Losing Tony in such a short time and so soon after has rocked the family to the core.
Tony was a very loving and caring Daddy. His Children were his world and they are heart broken. Lots of people have been asking about flower donations but we thought instead it may be more useful to set this funding page up for Tony’s children Henry and Claudia.
Tony’s funeral will be held at 13:00 on Friday 10th January 2020 at the Immaculate Conception in Devizes. Followed by a burial in the grounds of the Church and celebration of his life at The Corn Exchange. Parking is available at Station Road Car Park. Black clothing not necessary.
