Our beautiful friend Cass is facing her biggest challenge yet.

The strongest of the soul, she has put on an incredibly brave face since being diagnosed with metastatic Neuroendocrine (NET) cancer 6 months ago, but the unexpected curveballs keep

coming with the latest being the most serious to date.

This week, a tumour on her bowel perforated through her bowel wall, hitting a small artery (luckily) resulting in a bleed and landing her back in hospital. If left, it could result in a life threatening bleed so her amazing team of specialists have consulted far and wide to devise a plan - starting with 5 weeks of radiation to try shrink the tumour, followed by a big surgery to remove the tumour and part of her bowel (after which she’ll have a temporary stoma) and then she’ll start a specialised NET radiation treatment down in Brisbane to try stabilise the rest of the disease.

When faced with this prognosis earlier in the year she was asked if there was anything she would change and she simply replied “nothing, I love my life”. Our gal has a lot to love and live for - including her 3 beautiful children, her bestie / fiancé, and her incredible extended family. Unsurprisingly she has a big village circling her - walking beside and holding her hand every step of the way.

In the last few days, Cassie and those close to her have been inundated with an outpouring of love and support, and questions around how people can help.

And when we boil it down, what she really needs is consistency for her children and someone who can keep the house running and lighten the load for herself and Aaron so they can focus on getting her through the different stages of her treatment over the next 6 months.

So in lieu of flowers and food, we’ve created this page for anyone who wants to help but isn’t sure how. This is not a fundraiser, this is a way to channel people’s outpouring of love and support in a way that will make a meaningful difference to Cassie and her family… and that is to help ease some of the financial burden for the extra help they’ll be getting.

Anyone that knows Cassie, knows she’s not one to ask for help but she’ll be one of the first to give it. We know she will come out the other side with flying colours… our goal is to just help her through this next chapter of her story with as many smiles and as much ease as possible.

This page has been set up for our dear friend Cassie Lalieu who will be receiving these funds directly and using these donations to help fund in home care for her children and running of her home during her treatment.
