For Those Who Protected Our Babies — Silver Rail Staff Appreciation Fund
My name is Drea Moss, and I’m a Silver Rail mom. Both of my children were at school on October 15. Like so many parents, I experienced the unimaginable fear of not knowing if my babies were coming home. I will forever be grateful to the teachers and staff who protected and cared for them that day.
October 15, 2026, is a day our community will never forget.
As parents, we experienced a fear no mother or father should ever have to experience. We sent our babies to school that morning, trusting they would be safe. None of us could have imagined what would unfold.
In the middle of unimaginable fear and chaos, the teachers and staff at Silver Rail Elementary showed extraordinary courage.
They protected our babies. They comforted them. They made decisions no educator should ever have to make. And while we were desperately waiting to hold our children again, they were there with them.
There will never be enough words to express our gratitude.
I want to create an opportunity for our community to give something back to the people who gave so much of themselves that day.
This fundraiser is intended to provide a monetary gift of appreciation to the staff of Silver Rail Elementary. Not because money could ever repay what they did, but because they deserve to know just how deeply loved, valued, and appreciated they are.
To every teacher, aide, administrator, and staff member who cared for our children: Thank you for protecting our babies. Thank you for your courage. Thank you for bringing them home to us.
We will never forget what you did.
With all our love and gratitude,
The Silver Rail Families & Community
