Hi my is Alan Maguire. On February 14th, Valentines Day I’m attempting to run the Donadea 50km. It’s 50km in under 5hrs. I’m running it to try raise much needed funds for Shannon’s Hopeline in the Liberties, Dublin.
This is the biggest run of my life, as it marks the 20th anniversary of my mam’s death by suicide. I’m running it in her memory and to support an amazing charity that provides early mental health support and suicide prevention services for young people (4-25) and families, helping those who are struggling before crisis point.
It was set up by Shannon’s Mam Sandra and Aunt Lisa after Shannon took her own life at the tender age of 13. To read Shannon’s story or if you’d like to link in with them, here’s the link.
If you need help, support or just need to chat please reach out to me. I’m always here.
It’s ok not to be ok.
Thanks for reading
