This has become an increasingly tough topic to discuss let alone write about, but one of our lifelong friends and brother needs us to rally for him as he would do for any of us. Everyone that knows Jake Sutterfield knows what a great man he is and how he will do whatever he can for anyone that needs anything. There are not enough words to truly describe him, he is a Son, Husband, Dad, Brother and Friend to so many. He takes those roles with PRIDE! Jake is not a man to ask for help from anyone especially on a financial level, he will always figure it out. This time he isn’t asking for help either, it is us rallying around him to start this Go Fund Me to help take the stress off them to be able to focus on Jake’s overall health!

Jake has sadly been diagnosed with Lung cancer. It has been a whirlwind of emotions since the diagnosis came. Now this journey starts to get him healed and on the other side of this cancer, so he can continue to live his life with his family and friends and to continue his path.

This will be a financially crushing journey for Jake and Trina, with all the appointments and testing that insurance doesn’t cover, is already adding to the stress and depleting the money. They will have to head to St. Louis the beginning of February to start the process. Jake will have to have a major surgery at Washington University-Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis to remove the mass in his lung that is blocking his bronchial tube that runs to the top of the lung, which is causing that lung to not inflate and work properly. The surgery and recovery time will last up to six weeks at Washington University-Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Having the expenses of their household here in Oklahoma and having to rent a place in St. Louis and not being able to work during this time is going to be financially paralyzing on top of the obvious mental state Jake and Trina are both in during this.

Anything at this time will help them out tremendously and will allow them to keep the focus where it needs to be and not to be stressed about renting a place in St. Louis. We all want this to be successful, as well as taking off as many burdens on them as we possibly can in this time of need. FUCK CANCER!
