Help Students Access Mental Health Support — When They Need It Most

April 17, 2025, my world was shaken.

An active shooter entered the student union at Florida State University — where my son is currently enrolled — and opened fire on innocent students who were simply trying to enjoy a normal day on campus.

Thankfully, my son is safe. But so many other students, parents and faculity are now carrying trauma, fear, confusion, and heartbreak. And the truth is, far too many of them won’t have access to the help they need to heal.

While FSU and many other universities do offer free mental health services to students, those resources often aren’t enough — due to wait times, limited sessions, or stigma.

As a licensed psychotherapist these funds will allow me to provide services to those living in Florida, Virginia, Connecticut, California, Colorado, New York, Oregon and Missouri at no cost to the student.

This fund is not just for students directly impacted by today’s events — it's for any high school or college aged student in the United States who is struggling with their mental health and needs help.

Some can’t afford therapy.

Some come from families who don’t believe in mental health support.

Some are just overwhelmed and don’t know where to start.

I’ve created this fund to help bridge that gap.

These funds will be used to pay myself or another licensed therapist who have also agreed to assist high school and college aged students at a significantly reduced ($50/session).

Every dollar you give helps a student feel less alone — and reminds them that their life is worth fighting for, healing for, and living for.

I don’t want another student to suffer in silence and I don’t want mental health care to be a privilege — it should be a right.
