Meet Luna, a brave and beautiful 5-year-old French bulldog who has already faced more challenges than most pups ever should.

Luna has always been full of love, personality, and resilience, but the past year has been incredibly tough. In July 2024, she underwent Ventral Slot (IVDD-related) surgery, a frightening and emotional journey that she fought through with so much courage. Just when it felt like Luna could finally catch her breath, another battle emerged.

Recently, Luna was diagnosed with a severe staph infection deep in her inner ear, leading to her first Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA-BO) surgery in July 2025. After countless specialist visits, scans, and follow-ups, her veterinary team has recommended that her other ear also needs a second TECA-BO surgery to give her the best chance at healing, comfort, and a pain-free life. The estimated cost of this surgery is around $7,500.

Without this surgery, Luna would be in severe pain, and Alex and Reanna may end up having to make the most difficult decision any pet parent would face. Let’s try to help them have something go right for them in the last 12 months.

So far, the cost of Luna’s care—including surgeries, advanced imaging, workups, medications, and post-operative recovery—has surpassed $20,000. Not to mention the countless days Alex and Reanna have taken off work to be by her side. As a flat-faced (brachycephalic) breed, every surgery carries added risk, from general anesthesia to a more complex recovery, making each step even more frightening for her pawrents.

Outside of Luna’s medical journey, Alex and Reanna have had a true roller coaster of a year. Tragically, Alex lost his mother in December 2024, making the thought of losing Luna on top of everything else unbearable. Anyone who knows what it’s like to have a pet knows that Luna is not just a dog—she is family, their constant, their comfort, and their heart.
