For the love of Katelyn
My name is Cheryl and I am the mom of a beautiful daughter, my best friend, and the strongest woman I know. Along with Katelyn’s dad, Bill Unglesbee, and her
brother, Will Unglesbee, as well with one of Katelyn’s best friends, Gordana
Mitrevska, we are asking for your help.
2020 has been a hard year for everyone, everywhere.
On August 13, 2020, Katelyn was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer
(invasive ductal carcinoma DCIS stage 2). She is only 30 years old. Katelyn had
lumpectomy surgery on October 21, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she
is also challenged to go through a lot of this alone, but Katelyn has been strong,
courageous and positive through this whole ordeal.
Katelyn’s surgery went well, but she was still found to have cancer in her body
and after some additional testing, it was recommended that she have a
mastectomy. Then came the news that she also needs chemotherapy before
surgery.
After all the treatment, there’s a possibility that Katelyn may not be able to have
children, so she has decided to freeze her eggs. This is a costly procedure, that
her insurance does not cover at all.
This is the main reason we are asking for help, but she will also need help with her treatments, as her insurance does not cover everything. Katelyn will get through this. She is a strong, positive woman with a heart of gold and she is a light in this
world to everyone who meets her. Those of you who know her, know that. If you can’t donate, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, and please share this.
