Christine is one of those rare people who quietly gives everything she has to others. As a nurse, she’s spent her career caring for people in their hardest moments. As a mom, she’s the heart and anchor of her three children — Molly, Brendon, and Danny.
Earlier this year, everything changed for the Regan family. In January, Christine became ill, and in February she received the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. She began chemotherapy, determined to fight with the same strength and grace she’s always shown. The treatments took a toll — her body became weak, but her spirit never gave up.
Then, in September, she faced another setback. Christine suffered a fall that caused brain bleeds, landing her in the ICU. After spending weeks in the hospital and then in rehab, she was finally discharged just days before Halloween — something she and the kids had been waiting and praying for.
When Christine arrived home, the kids were excited to finally have their mom back. But that joy quickly turned to worry when she struggled to get up the stairs and couldn’t make it inside. They had to call an ambulance, and she was brought back to the hospital. Christine was found to have a stress fracture in her hip, and she underwent hip replacement surgery.
Through every obstacle, Christine has faced each day with courage, determination, and perseverance. She’s now close to being discharged again — one step closer to being home, where she belongs.
To make that possible, her home needs to be made safe for her recovery — including a ramp and accessibility modifications so she can move freely and focus on healing.
Christine is not someone who asks for help. She’s spent her life being the helper — the one who shows up, who listens, who gives. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
A bunch of our hockey families have been rallying around the Regan family these past months — organizing meal trains, helping with housework, fundraisers, laundry, and rides. We’ve all been doing what we can, but we wanted to do even more — to get Christine home with her kids where she belongs, and make sure their home is ready for her return with a ramp and the renovations she needs.
Please consider donating or sharing this page to help us bring Christine safely home to her family. Let’s surround her with the same love and care she’s always given to others — and help her get back to where her heart belongs: home.
