Hi Off the Rocks Community,
Since July, we have spent over $15,000 on spay, neuter, and emergency veterinary care for our kittens and we anticipate spending another $1,800 in spay/neuter surgeries in the next two months. We are committed to ensuring we are sending our residents home ready to lead a healthy life alongside their humans -- but this comes at a high cost. As an entirely donation-based shelter, we rely greatly on our community..and, in times like these, we need a little extra love.
All donations will go directly to the cost of care for our animals. So, who is your money going to?
- To Maria, who we took in two months pregnant from a high-risk situation in Saugus and who suffered postpartum complications. Thanks to emergency vet care, she is now in her forever home with her baby Mango.
- To Screech, who came to us with a level 3 heart murmur and is waiting on an echocardiogram to ensure he can lead a stress-free life with his new 10-year old human best friend!
- To Christina, whose broken leg cost over $10,000 to repair but is now reunited with her brother Zac and living life to the fullest.
- To Stuffin, who arrived with a penetrative corneal injury and spent lots of time at the kitten-ophthalmologist...but is now settled into home with his best friend Baby Corn.
- To Scoots, Smudge, and Screech awaiting their spay/neuter surgeries...and to all the kittens we have fixed this year to fulfill our mission to reduce stray cat overpopulations here, in the Virgin Islands, and everywhere.

Off The Rocks Animal Rescue
Off the Rocks Animal Rescue is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to the aid of homeless cats. We are based in Massachusetts and St. Thomas, USVI. In addition to education and advocacy, we transport adoptable pets from areas of overpopulation to the Northeast, where they are adopted permanent homes.
