I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but the last 24 hours have been a whirlwind for our family.

Our sweet boy Frank (resident gentle giant) suddenly became very sick and had to be rushed to emergency late last night. What started as worrying symptoms quickly escalated into a suspected urinary obstruction, something we’ve since learned is a serious and time-sensitive emergency in dogs.

He was transferred to a larger emergency hospital in Toronto and is currently receiving overnight care and monitoring. We’re incredibly grateful he’s in good hands, but the reality is that the costs have risen very quickly and are now in the thousands.

This was completely unexpected, and like many families, we’re trying to navigate both the emotional and financial weight of it in real time, while also keeping life steady at home.

A few people have gently suggested starting a fundraiser, and while it’s not something that comes easily to us, we’ve decided to share this with Frank's circle. If you feel moved to support Frank’s care in any way, it would mean more than we can express. And if not, your kind thoughts for our big baby are just as appreciated.
