Recently, my 4-year-old Corgi/Blue Heeler mix, Elroy, swallowed some fabric off of a dog stuffed animal he had been playing with. We were not aware of this until much later when he started vomiting and threw up some of the fake fur from off of the toy. He has been known to swallow items like this before, but usually throws them all up before they pass into his intestines. No such luck this time.
While he is still drinking water, he will not take food unless I mix up a mash and force it into his mouth with a doggie syringe. We have spent the week using some vet-recommended home remedies, such as pushing pumpkin and fiber, but he has not passed the fabric. He is lethargic and scared and losing weight.
Now we need to take him to the vet to have the item removed but we find ourselves low on funds. As many of us experienced, the pandemic caused us some financial difficulties such as a reduction in the pay to which we were accustomed and that hasn't returned to the levels it was before COVID. We had to leverage our credit cards to survive. We also recently experienced a series of unfortunate incidents such as a tree falling onto our fence and the neighbor's shed, which we are paying to repair, and some plumbing issues that are never inexpensive.
Like most Americans, we only need one or two unexpected and costly incidents to leave our bank accounts bare and that is where we find ourselves now.
If you could spare any money, however small, to help us pay for Elroy's treatment, it would be much appreciated.
Thank you, in advance, for anything you can spare to get Elroy the treatment he needs.
