“OLD WOUNDS,” A Short Film by Carrsan T. Morrissey

The long awaited; most ambitious project yet from ‘Queen of Iowa Horror’ Carrsan T. Morrissey, “OLD WOUNDS” is a short film with a long history.
Inspired by the story and characters from Morrissey’s harrowing 2021 novel of the same name, “OLD WOUNDS” follows Lilian, a violent wanderer on the run from a relentless darkness. Trapped in a jail cell following a deadly encounter in a cheap motel, Lilian must convince two small-town cops to release her before an unfathomable evil comes calling. What unravels from there is a vicious tale of terror, trauma, and survival.
For nearly a decade (early work on the novel began in 2016), the dream has been to bring Lilian’s pitch-black world to life on screen. To do so, Morrissey is building a team of some of the greatest talents the Midwest film scene has to offer, including frequent and beloved collaborators as well as new and exciting talents.

Making a film takes a lot of planning, time, and resources. While we are fully committed to making this happen no matter what, proper funding is needed to inject this story with the life it truly deserves. All funds raised will go directly into production costs, including travel and food for actors and crew; purchasing costumes, props, and makeup elements; renting locations and equipment; and many other miscellaneous costs of creating a project of this scale.
ALL DONORS will be thanked in the closing credits; donors of $1000+ will be listed in the opening credits as producers.
It’s high time to give this story its time in the sun. This short film is the first step to one day, hopefully, bring Lilian’s tale to life in the form of a feature film. Help us make that dream a reality. Every penny counts.
