Our wonderful friend, Alyssa, has been battling Liver Disease since January 2021 and is in DESPERATE need of a liver transplant. You probably know that she is the proud mother of 3 children - Simon (25), Fiona (19), and Jett (16). She is also an adoring grandmother to her granddaughter, October (3). Not to mention an amazing FRIEND & FABULOUS HAIRDRESSER!!!
Alyssa, her husband Walrus, and her parents, Randy and Cindy are doing everything they can to get her a donor, living or deceased, and get her healthy. We had hoped her brother Solon was a candidate, but
after testing found he was not a match (very disappointing for everyone, to say the least). She then had a second potential donor fall through. All of this has been hard both emotionally AND financially, however, she remains positive and hopeful (yea- that’s our LYSS!). Anyone who knows Alyssa knows she is a private person, and not one to ask for help, which is why most people haven’t been aware of the situation until now.
NOW we are reaching out. NOW she has agreed it’s time to ask for HELP.
She is literally fighting for her life.
We are asking for ANY financial donations to help with the IMMENSE COSTS involved in all this including
• Medical expenses not covered by insurance.
• The prescription medication post-transplant.
• Their cost of living while going through the liver donation process.
• Travel expenses for any potential donor.
• Travel expenses to/from hospitals for them during testing.
Alyssa has to travel frequently to UCSF and The Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. She hasn’t been able to work since April 2021. Her husband Walrus is her primary caretaker whose career forces him to work on locations far from home for months at a time. He has also been unable to work for more than a few days at a time in Los Angeles, CA.
She is on the waiting list for a liver donation and has a competitive MELD score with UNOS, United Network for Organ Sharing since July 2021. For more information on this, visit www.unos.org. If you are interested in being a living donor, she needs a healthy donor with an O blood type. Please follow this link www.ucliverdonor.org for information on being a donor.
ANY AMOUNT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED
Please post/share/email the link to this page to anyone who knows Alyssa and her family or to anyone that you think may be willing to donate.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! ❤️
