For the love of Addie

Donation protected
Dearest family and friends.
With deepest humility, we find ourselves in the position where we need to ask for help financially outside the normal means.
As most of you know, our daughter Addisen has been Ill for about 4 months now and has yet to be diagnosed with anything particular. We are doing everything possible to find her a doctor that will come along side us and help us figure out what is causing her symptoms. We have not been very successful in this, but have received some hope from our most recent visit to VCU in Richmond. In the last few months we have been to countless Dr appointments, have visited the ER in several hospitals multiple times and still don't have any for sure answers. We don't know what it's going to take to get Addisen the help that she needs, but we are pursuing every avenue that we can find because some of her symptoms are potentially life threatening. Some of what we are finding is not covered by our insurance and unfortunately is very expensive. We are also going to be purchasing a helmet for Addie to wear at all times. She has been passing out without warning and has hit her head several times. Equally as important, Gwen has been struggling with vision loss over the past few weeks and has had to see an Opthamologist to try to determine what is happening. Her opthamologist has not been able to figure out yet what is happening, but has prescibed steroid drops to see if that will help. So far Gwen has not noticed much of a difference, so this is also something that we will be pursuing for her. Our vision insurance does not cover an Opthamologist and we currently do not have medical insurance for her. All of the cost of this has been out of pocket. Our son Ollie, who is 1, has a few similar symptoms to Addie, including head dropping and non-epileptic spells. He has been seeing a neurologist at UVA that has been following his progression. He has not progressed in his symptoms to where Addie is currently but we are hoping that through our journey with Addisen that we will be able to learn more about helping him before he reaches this level. On top of everything that is happening with Addisen and Gwen, we have had a very big set back with our Suburban. Last week, Gwen was on her way home from an appointment with Addisen when our Suburban broke down in Verona. After having it looked by our mechanic, it was determined that amongst several other smaller issues, we had lost our transmission.. Our mechanic gave us an estimate of just over $3300 to fix it. We cannot handle this right now financially. We have already had to ask for help from our church just to pay our basic bills for the last few months, and we have nothing left to put towards this. I have had to take over a week off throughout the last few months, with out pay, due to emergencies with Addisen and the extra cost of travel to appointments and hospital trips has just overwhelmed us. God has blessed us through this all and kept us from drowning completely, and we are humbled and grateful for the help that we have received to this point. We have talked and prayed alot about what to do and with the encouragement of our deacons and several family members decided that it was time to ask for outside help. Your thoughts, and prayers are coveted, and if you feel led to donate please know that we would be grateful for anything. If you feel led to help financially, but do not like to go through fundraising sites, we also have a PayPal account that can be used.
Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers for our family!

If you would like to follow Addisens journey you are welcome to “like” her page on Facebook called “For the love of Addie”. Gwen tries to update this daily.
Thank you again.
