FOR THE LOVE OF A SON

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Walter Chapman and I am raising funds for my 69-year-old uncle Reggie Chapman. He was brutally attacked while getting ready to go to Wal-Mart to buy food for his homeless son that had been on the streets for quite some time. My uncle lovingly let him stay with him and in turn this is how he was treated.

His son went to the garage and picked up a 20 inch handle to a engine hoist (my uncle is a retired auto shop mechanic) and came back into the living room and beat his father until he lay on the ground in agony. Then, he went back into the garage to retrieve a gallon of gasoline and doused his father all the while having a cigarette lighter between his teeth. My uncle was able to escape and flee his home at the same time his son soaked his master bedroom that contained his guitar collection, as he is also a musician, and other valuables, including his wallet, and set it ablaze. The photos tell the rest of the story.

The house he lived in and that was damaged was built by my grandfather who was a carpenter before he passed in 1984 and had been handed down to my uncle. Reggie is on a fixed income and could not afford home insurance premiums so there will not be any insurance recovery to assist in the repairs. My uncle will reside with a relative for the time being when he is released from the ICU to recover from his injuries and begin the rebuilding effort.

My cousin was apprehended by the Martin County, FL Sheriff's Department and is in the county jail for now. He was charged with attempted murder and arson with a total bail of $1.5 Million. I will post the arrest records which are public record when they are available.

Please find it in your heart to help Reggie see his way through this tramatic event. My uncle Reggie is such a good hearted soul and fine person. I know he will have medical bills and the cost to repair the home just for trying to help his son get back onto his feet.

Thank you for stopping by to read my appeal for help.

I added a few pictures from over the years. He balance and blueprinted a 350 Chevy engine that we dropped in a 1967 Chevelle my dad and I restored. He also drag raced in his younger days. I added a photo of his Camaro in the last pic.
