For the Hersh Family

Michelle and Drew were expecting their first child on April 2, 2023. They decided to keep the baby’s gender a secret from everyone (although, all of us at work knew it was a boy).

At their baby shower Drew handed out small, rectangular packages, wrapped in white paper tied with a bow. Elexis and I could not wait to open them because we were hoping for a gender reveal. Drew caught us trying to sneak open the packages before we were supposed to so we thought, “We better follow directions”. Michelle gave us the go ahead to open the gifts and inside was a Hershey bar (like their last name Hersh) with the ‘HE’ colored in, revealing “It’s A Boy!” Everyone was so happy and excited to finally hear the news.

Michelle was diagnosed with preeclampsia and the doctor scheduled her to be induced early on March 12. Unfortunately, Michelle started to feel unwell before then and went to the hospital. While there, they learned they had lost their son due to medical complications.

Michelle delivered Ozzie Dashel Hersh on Monday, March 6, 2023. He is a beautiful boy at 4 lbs. 15 oz., light brown hair and a cute little nose. They were able to spend as much time as they needed with Ozzie to grieve and honor his life.
