We want to thank everyone for the love and care during this difficult time. With your support, we were able to stay afloat and to care for Sandi in her final days. But the struggles continue.
For those who knew this wonderful, free spirit, you would not be surprised to learn the she helped anyone she could throughout her life. She kept a community garden for several years where the hungry could help themselves. She prepared Thanksgiving meals for families in need, and gave food to the homeless.
After 22 years of knowing each other, Sandi and Shelly finally got the fairy tale wedding that Sandi always wanted; complete with a lovely dress and the guests wearing white. The smile on Sandi’s face and the tears in Shelly’s eyes showed friends and family what love truly looked like. The wedding became a dream wedding because Sandi’s Dad was able to walk her down the aisle before he, too, lost his battle with cancer.
However, Sandi’s battle with cancer was not finished with her yet. Sandi’s mom, Roberta, and Sandi battled terminal cancer together, hand-in-hand as mother and daughter. Sandi lost her mom before losing her own battle.
Through it all, Sandi never complained and maintained a positive outlook. She giggled at stupid commercials, and teared up at mother-daughter commercials. She delighted in a clean house and was heard saying “A clean house is a clean mind”.
Sandi left behind a loving wife, 3 beautiful daughters, a cuddly granddaughter and best friend.
Toward the end, we all helped as much as we could with round the clock care. We missed work to care for Sandi. We lost sleep to care for Sandi. We lost tears to care for Sandi. But taking care of this marvelous woman has taken its toll on our finances. Any financial help to get through this tough time and settle our finances is appreciated more than you know. We thank you all for continued support for our family during these trying times. Please continue to pray, and we will continue to thank God the blessings.
