Many who read this do not know of Hakjoo – She was a person of tremendous dedication to her family, her art, and to those of us in the profession of esthetic dentistry who were made to look so much better because of her artistic skills. She was a credit to her profession and to the AACD . Two years ago Hakjoo was diagnosed with cancer which ultimately took her life at the young age of 45 on January 13, 2018. She leaves behind a family of 3 children and a mother which she soley supported. For those of you who wish to aid in support of her family please do so here.

Thank You All So Much .

Martin Luther King said that ,

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for other’s”?

It was appropriate; a Godly question of timing, something that could only be pointed to that which we cannot see, but only feel. It made me look more closely at myself. It made me look at those around me. People who are acquaintances, those I can call my friends, those that I love. And of those, and myself, I ask “What are you doing for others?”

Something that all humanity has in common and is unique to mankind, is the voice inside. Some call it the conscious, some call it the voice of conviction and others call it the spirit. Some listen intently to it, others don’t. When we are fortunate to know an individual that walks in this spirit of doing for others, our lives become more because of them. We get to see what unselfishness is and maybe, if we are lucky, we get to feel what unselfishness is . Hak Joo Savercool was one of those rare people who exemplified the incredible and enviable virtue of selflessness. For those of you who do not know, she raised 3 children and took care of her mother on her own. She always put her family and many of us (her clients) before her own comfort and convenience.

It is people such as her, which are gifts to us all. She is the one that we all can say has made our life more than what it might have been through, not only her abilities in what she did as a ceramist, but more importantly as the example of what doing for others means and the eternal value that it has.
