For the Doctor Who Cared for Us All

Hi, my name is Sheila Lamptey, and I'm fundraising for my dear husband, Dr Samad O. Lamptey.

I'm reaching out with a heavy heart and hopeful spirit on behalf of Dr. Samad Odartey Lamptey. A compassionate and dedicated medical doctor who suffered a life-altering Stroke in March 2025, while on duty in a hospital in South Africa, where he was serving tirelessly as part of his fellowship training. Over the last couple of months, his immediate family, colleagues, and friends in South Africa have supported him in his medical treatment and recovery as best as they could.

He is currently stable, but the Stroke has left him completely paralysed, needing extensive rehabilitation. The continuing, arduous recovery and rehabilitation journey has significant financial implications, a burden impossible for him and his immediate family to bear alone. It has therefore become imperative that we raise funds to support his continued care and rehabilitation.

We aim to raise £220,000 to help cover the full cost of Dr. Samad Odartey Lamptey’s medical treatment and support his recovery journey.
