Meet Jessika, she’s the youngest of 4 and is 15 years of age. 3 years ago we tragically lost her older brother Justin at 16 in a drowning accident. Jessika is a very vibrant, spunky outgoing and loving young lady who is in the fight of her life. In October or November Jessika had Covid-19 and seemed to recover well but was losing motor functions. So in February Jessika was admitted into Peoria Pediatric ICU were she was undergoing MRI’s and testing to find the cause of the loss of declining motor skill functions. Shortly after she was transferred to Chicago Pediatric ICU where it was thought she had Acute Muscular Neuropathy, and did genetic testing. May 21 Jessika was diagnosed with ALS. She is now on a Gtube (feeding tube), a ventilator, and unfortunately will never be able to move her limbs. Our main focus is to maintain her current condition, and bring her home. 

This has required Amy (her mother) to be with her at the hospital full time with her while Jessika has been hospitalized for the past 4 months while they need two incomes to keep afloat while only one parent is able to work. 

Needless to say, Jessika will need 24 hour nursing care, she will need ramps built, a specialized vehicle to accommodate her wheelchair so she can get to her dr appointments, she will need special accommodations made to the bathroom to fit a shower chair, medications and treatments.. as you can see the list goes on. 

This family has already been through enough with the passing of one of their children and they need us more than ever to help them ease the financial stress and toll this is taking. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
