For the Childrens Heartbeat Trust ❤️

We have started this page to raise money for The Childrens Heartbeat trust ,an amazing charity that helped us so much throughout Angus’s journey.The Childrens Heartbeat trust goes above and beyond to help heart families across the whole country.From toys for kids in hospital,accommodation,care packagesand just being someone there to talk to they help so many families in so many different ways.The Childrens Heartbeat trust gave us hope at such a dark time,we will be forever thankful to the team.Any donation big or small would be greatly appreciated and will help a future heart family like us❤️

Here is our Angus’s Heart Journey❤️

On the 22nd of June at just 10 weeks old Angus was diagnosed with a VSD (hole in the heart) where he was kept in the Royal Hospital Belfast for 10 days for multiple scans,tests and to begin heart medication.It was the worst day of our lives and we never thought we would get through it,little did we know how much of a fighter our wee man is❤️

Angus tired very quickly when feeding and wasn’t able to gain weight as he burnt all his energy by breathing and feeding alone.He was taken back in to The Clarke clinic at the Royal Hospital to get an NG feeding tube that would help him gain weight quicker and take the pressure off him,although he didn’t mind this he loved seeing all his favourite nurses.

Angus had his open heart surgery on the 3rd of October in Dublin.He was in theatre for what felt like the longest 3 hours of our life.Doctors and nurses were amazed by how quickly he was recovering with just one day in the ICU he was transferred down to the heart ward where he stayed for 6 days.With 3 drains in his chest and stomach,IV lines in his neck,foot and hand and a broken chestbone along with a long surgical wound,he didn’t let any of it hold him or his smile back❤️

We are so proud of how far he has come from not being able to finish a bottle to eating all new foods everyday,not being able to play for long to bouncing and shouting the house down 24/7 we are amazed at how resilient our wee man has been and are so excited to see him getting bigger and stronger everyday.Our wee gus❤️

A massive thank you to Dr Mcguiness Angus’s fantastic surgeon and his amazing team at Childrens Health Ireland,to Dr Morrison Angus’s consultant at the Royal Hospital who guided us through every step,Anastasia and her team at The Clarke Clinic Angus’s favourite nurses who he just loved to see and lastly The Childrens heartbeat trust who we would’ve been lost without,we cannot thank you all enough ❤️
