After the nullification of the presidential election results by the Supreme Court, the Kenyan community in the diaspora has come together to support NASA and raise money for the upcoming Presidential re-run election in Kenya scheduled for October 26th, 2017. The stakes have never been higher. The Supreme Court has given us a lifeline. In order to win, NASA urgently needs our financial support to carry out an effective campaign and implement measures to get out and protect the vote. Therefore, we are appealing to you to join in and help deliver the victory to the people of Kenya. As diaspora, we want to make a difference, we want our impact in this election to be felt, and we want to contribute to the change that Kenyans long for. The Diaspora community is fired up and we truly believe we can do it because we have the will, motivation and commitment.
The team coordinating this fundraising campaign include Dr. Dan Mugubi of Texas; Amos Atonga, Beatrice Oduor and Hellen A-Harris of New Jersey; Debra Akello of California; Myk Owuor of Minnesota; and Dr. Sam Oyugi and Otieno Ombok of NY. These are all well-known, respected, trusted, and credible members of the Kenyan Diaspora in the United States. We have implemented strict measures on this account to ensure full transparency and accountability. Five of the fundrasing campaign coordinators are administrators of the gofundme account: Debra Akello, Otieno Ombok, Beatrice Oduor, Dr. Sam Oyugi, and Dr. Daniel Mugubi. The role of the administrators include verifying donations, sending "thank you" notes to donors, updating Kenyan diaspora on various social media platforms, making arrangements for unanimously agreed-upon withdrawals and transmission of funds directly to the NASA/ODM secretariat, etc.
The account creator, Debra Akello, is CEO of an international consulting firm and executive director of a major 501(c) nonprofit organization registered in the U.S. and Kenya. She is a Kenyan by birth and has been involved and traveled to Kenya in August to participate in the NASA presidential campaigns along with Otieno Ombok who is an attorney and was part of the NASA technical team which was involved in the verification of Form 34As at the National Tallying Center at Bomas.

We anticipate that the fundraising campaign will end on or around October 26th, 2017, the date of the Presidential election in Kenya. The coordinators and administrators of the fundraising campaign plan to withdraw the donated funds and transmit directly to the NASA/ODM Presidential Campaign bank account provided by the Presidnetial campaign. The funds will not be transmitted to any personal account.
We will duly notify the NASA Secretariat of the funds transmission. This will be done openly for the world to see. The funds will be used by the Presidential campaign during the ongoing campaign, to run Election Day activities aimed at protecting the NASA votes, paying polling agents, etc.
