Russ has been a key member of the legal team the Logitech family. Over the last 3 years (including a year at our office in Lausanne), he’s helped guide us through challenges in litigation, built a strong corporate compliance function, and guide our IP portfolio and strategy. More important than any of the great work that he’s done here, Russ has been a great friend and colleague as well as an inspiration to many.
As many of you know Russ is an active and avid outdoorsman (skiing, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking). Unfortunately about two weeks ago, at the end of a mountain biking ride, Russ had an accident and suffered a severe spinal cord injury. He is paralyzed from the chest down and the prognosis for a full recovery is challenging at best.
Russ is hard at work on recovering from and managing his various injuries. He has a great team of doctors and specialists at Seattle’s Harborview Hospital. His wife Tamara and four grown children (Alex, Sam, Kate, and Heidi) are at his side and are supporting him through this difficult time. Tamara and their two daughters live up in Bellingham nearly a 3-hour drive away and his sons live outside of the state as well. As his friends and colleagues, we wanted to do what we can to help support Russ and his family as he fights to overcome and manage his injuries.
We’re hoping to show our support with a small gesture to help them deal with travel costs, hotels, meals etc. as Russ is expected to be at Harborview Hospital until at least October 1st. Of course, there is absolutely no obligation to help but we thought this was one simple way to do so. We know that every little bit will help so I hope you all will join us!
