My name is Dihana Araujo, and my family is in the midst of tragedy and heartbreak. Wednesday morning, my dad Miguel Araujo was trying to protect our home, my family, and himself from burglars. In the process the burglars shot and murdered him. He was the best dad anyone could ask for and my mothers best friend. He left behind a loving family, his wife of 20 years, and his 5 children. My dad instilled values of kindness and hard work in us. He worked everyday of his life from 6 years old selling candy to support his mom. He built a framing business from the ground up. He had so much left to live for with dreams for himself and family. He was ready for grandchildren, he was building his dream home with my mom, and he was loved and respected by our family and the community. This has turned our entire lives upsidedown. Extraño a mi papa.
