Hi All -
We are AJ & Rachel, pawrents to Milo. We’re organizing this fundraiser for Milo who has been recently hospitalized right after his first birthday
On Monday, Sept 19 we noticed Milo had a change of mood & lack of appetite. We did not think to much of it as he throws fits usually when he’s tired of his food. It wasn’t until we took him out for his normal walk that we noticed there was a significant amount of blood in his urine & feces We immediately took him to the vet. The vet ruled out any digestive issues but was concerned with how pale Milo’s gums were. A first set of tests were ran and it was discovered Milo’s red blood cell count level went from 35% (normal) down to 12% This is very uncommon for a dog his age and with such a low red blood cell count we had to have him hospitalized and he will have to undergo multiple blood transfusions and additional tests to properly determine his diagnosis. The current assumption is he might be anemic, but the vets are looking to see if there is any other underlying illness.
We are not usually the type to ask for help, but will do anything to help get our boy back to his healthy self. We were lucky enough to be able to get him what he needs this time around but pet medical bills are not cheap & will continue to add up. We are hoping to raise money to help cover any future expenses (medications, additional hospitalizations & transfusions) he might need. Anything helps and we are truly grateful for everyone sharing and donating ❤️
