On the evening of May 21st, our father suffered a devastating stroke that changed everything for our family. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, he also suffered a heart attack. Thanks to the incredible efforts of the medical team, they were able to bring him back, but he never regained consciousness.

For the following days, he remained in the NCCU at Palmetto General Hospital, where his condition continued to decline. Despite every effort from the doctors and nurses caring for him, there were no neurological responses, and his organs slowly began to fail.

On May 31st at 12:01 a.m., our father peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of his family.

Throughout this heartbreaking journey, my mother never left his side, remaining with him every day and every night. My sister was also unable to work as our family focused on supporting one another and being present for him during his final days. We have been surrounded by an overwhelming amount of love, prayers, and support from family, friends, and everyone who has reached out during this difficult time. The kindness shown to us has meant more than words can express.

As we begin navigating life without our father, we are creating this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden our family now faces. Donations will help cover funeral and memorial expenses, outstanding medical costs, and provide support for my mother and sister as they transition from a two-income household to a single-income home while adjusting to this new reality.

My father was deeply loved by his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him. While no amount of financial support can replace him, any contribution—no matter the size—will help ease the burden during this incredibly difficult time.

La noche del 21 de mayo, nuestro padre sufrió un derrame cerebral devastador que cambió por completo la vida de nuestra familia. Poco después de llegar al hospital, también sufrió un ataque al corazón. Gracias a los enormes esfuerzos del equipo médico, lograron reanimarlo, pero nunca volvió a despertar.

Durante los días siguientes permaneció en la Unidad de Cuidados Neurocríticos (NCCU) del Hospital Palmetto General, donde su condición continuó deteriorándose. A pesar de todos los esfuerzos de los médicos y enfermeros que lo atendieron, no hubo respuesta neurológica y sus órganos comenzaron a fallar lentamente.

El 31 de mayo a las 12:01 de la madrugada, nuestro padre falleció en paz, rodeado del amor de su familia.

A lo largo de esta dolorosa experiencia, nuestra madre nunca se separó de su lado, permaneciendo junto a él día y noche. Mi hermana también se vio obligada a dejar de trabajar mientras nuestra familia se enfocaba en acompañarlo y apoyarse mutuamente durante sus últimos días. Hemos recibido una inmensa cantidad de amor, oraciones y apoyo por parte de familiares, amigos y todas las personas que nos han acompañado en este difícil momento. La bondad que hemos recibido significa más de lo que las palabras pueden expresar.

Mientras comenzamos a enfrentar la vida sin nuestro padre, hemos creado esta campaña de GoFundMe para ayudar a aliviar la carga financiera que nuestra familia enfrenta ahora.
