On May 6, the house of our colleague Alexis was burnt down in Bangui, along with several others in one of the reprisal attacks by self-defense groups since the killings at a Catholic church last week. Thankfully, Alexis and his family were not in the house at the time, and are safe, but have lost everything. In this time of hardship, we would like to support Alexis and his family to help them find temporary housing and cover some of their immediate needs, such as household items and food costs. We are hoping to raise $500 for immediate needs, $1,500 for six months of rent, and $1,000 for building supplies to start repairing. Alexis joined Search a few weeks ago, and is a journalist in our Bangui team, producing radio programming focused on fostering peace and reconciliation in CAR.
