Our beautiful princess Ava-Rose
Our beautiful princess Ava-Rose has grown her angel wings and gone to heaven.
Ava-Rose was born 2nd May at 16:04 weighing 7lb15oz. She was perfect, everything me and Dan could wish for.
Ava was such a strong happy little baby, from the moment she was born till 17th May she was completely fine, no problems at all..she was smiling, she was so loving. Then from 17th may we noticed she wasnt quite right..she wasnt feeding and she seemed to suddenly be extremely cwtchy and we was unable to settle her.
18th May we was told to take her into hospital quickly after seeing the midwife and a GP, our little princess had a heart rate well over 200bpm. After a battle to bring her heart rate down with specialist teams and an ongoing call with cardiff hospital they managed to diagnose Ava with a heart condition called Supraventricular tachycardia which makes hearts beat extremely fast. After having heart medication our princess seemed alright, her heart rate went down and she had a feed, she drank it so fast..our chunky monkey as we call her had her appetite back. She was awake and alert at this point, back to her usual nosey self. After a few hours we noticed her chest started going fast again as she was breathing and suddenly the monitors were going crazy her heartrate was back up over 250bmp. After 2-3 minutes her heart completely stopped and specialist teams came running in and managed to get her heart pumping again after only a minute of compressions unfortunately it wasnt beating fast enough so they had to rush her down to surgery to have a tube put down her throat to help her but our little princess just wasnt strong enough anymore and had a cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated for over an hour and 40 minutes as her heart couldnt beat properly without them performing chest compressions. After all this time of having chest compressions her SATS came up and she started breathing without the compressions after doctors saying they was about to call it in and she was going to pass away..she was a fighter!!! Bristol medical team came in on a private ambulance to help her and take her to cardiff Noahs Ark special baby unit..after hours of trying to stabalise our baby she was finally in the ambulance and on her way to another hospital, on the way to hospital her lungs started to fill with her blood which had acid in. They started to drain them but they kept filling again. We arrived at cardiff hospital at 3:52am Friday morning and was told our little princess had no brain activity. Her organs were shutting down and she was dying and we had to make the decision of taking the ventilation tube out of her throat and letting her pass away with the help of morphine so she wasnt in pain. Our little princess fought so hard till the very end and me and the father couldnt be more proud. At 5:25am our little ray of sunshine received her angel wings and has gone to heaven.
The reason i have set up this page is to raise as much money as we can to give our little princess the best send off she deserves. Any donation will be so helpful and appreciated from myself and the father and of course our angel in the sky.
