For Omar's Family

Here is a picture of my oldest sister Angela Christine Dalton-Ledesma her late husband Omar Ledesma and their family. It includes their four children, Jacob, Gabrielle, Matthew, and Lucy Ledesma, Jacob's Girlfriend Hailey, and our mother Lorraine Dalton.

 

2022 has been an incredibly challenging year for Angela and her family. She has had an expensive car accident, developed health problems, lost a beloved aunt, and now her husband and father of her children, Omar, has passed away very suddenly.

 

 

Angela has always possessed the strength of ten whole moms, far more than she has ever given herself credit for, and that strength has carried her through 24 years of marriage and parenthood.

 

 

 

 

Though she had her first child in 1998, she has been a mother for as long as she has been my sister because she fed, burped, changed, clothed, carried, walked, played with, babysat, and helped with the homework of most of her younger siblings for almost as long as she has had younger siblings. She has been a mother, sister, aunt, niece, wife, and friend to so very many people throughout her life and has always put the needs of others above her own.

 

 

 

 

Though her older three children are now grown into brilliant, intelligent, capable, and responsible adults of whom all of their aunts and uncles could not be more proud, they are all left reeling without a father, and she is left to contend with the challenges and expenses that come with this grief and loss, in addition to her other struggles, as well as raising Lucy, their youngest, on her own.

 

 

 

All of this has been unimaginably hard for all of them, and it is my sincere hope that maybe those within her and her family's network can work together to get her and her family some of the help they so desperately need.

 

Anything you can spare would be helpful, even if that just means spreading the word to other people in your network.

 

Please help me to show my sister that she doesn't have to be strong all the time, to show her and her kids that they do not have to face all of this on their own, and to honor Omar’s memory and his enduring love for his family by showing them all that they can and will get through this with the love, help, and support of people who care about them.
