We met Obed about 15 years ago when we were missionaries in Rosarito, Mexico. Back then Obed was part of a Christian Rock band called Efasis. From then on we were fast friends. Despite his musical talents and zeal for the Lord, he was a humble man. WHENEVER I asked him to play whether it be a concert or to a small crowd Obed always without hesitation said YES! In recent years, he played worship several times at our church. He would wake up early and wait for hours in line at the border just to play a 20-minute set for our service. Always humble, always willing! During quarantine, he and his family spent their days handing out food & building houses in the poor communities in Rosarito. The virus did not stop him and he told me about a month ago that he wanted to be a full-time missionary in order to serve the Lord. Little did we know God had other plans. Yesterday, Obed lost his battle with Covid. We are ABSOLUTELY confident that today Jesus greeted Obed with these words, "Well done good and faithful servant, now enter into the joy of the Lord."

Conocimos a Obed hace unos 15 años cuando éramos misioneros en Rosarito, México. En ese entonces Obed era parte de una banda de rock cristiano llamada Efasis. Desde entonces fuimos amigos rápidos. A pesar de su talento musical y celo por el Señor, era un hombre humilde. SIEMPRE que le pedí que tocara, ya fuera en un concierto o para una pequeña multitud, Obed siempre sin dudarlo decía ¡SÍ!

En los recien años, tocaba varias veces en nuestra iglesia. Se levantaba temprano y esperaba horas en la fila solo para tocar por 20 minutos en nuestro servicio. ¡Siempre humilde, siempre dispuesto! Durante la cuarentena, él y su familia pasaron sus días repartiendo dispensas y construyendo casas en las colonias muy pobres de Rosarito. El virus no lo detuvo y hace un mes me dijo que quería ser misionero de tiempo completo para servir al Señor. Poco sabíamos que Dios tenía otros planes. Ayer Obed perdio su batalla con Covid. Estamos ABSOLUTAMENTE seguros de que hoy Jesús saludó a Obed con estas palabras: "Bien, buen siervo y fiel, entra en el gozo de tu Señor".

Obed tuvo tres grandes amores: Dios, la familia y la música. Ayúdenos a recaudar fondos para bendecir a su preciosa familia. Agradecemos todo lo que pueda hacer. Dios los bendiga y por favor mantenga a la Familia Quintero en sus oraciones: Vivet, su esposa y sus hijos, Obed Jr., Elsi y Gadiel.
