Hello everyone, my name is Lutz, and I have had the privilege of knowing Nick as a remarkable friend. Nick has always been an incredibly generous, dependable, and all-around great person to be around. We've shared unforgettable bike rides through the breathtaking landscapes of Nevada, Seattle, Portland, and Vashon Island. Nick's bike has always been his pride and joy, meticulously maintained and a testament to his passion for riding. Unfortunately, our adventures together have come to a halt.
On Saturday, May 27th, tragedy struck as Nick was returning from Vashon Island. A driver, recklessly ignoring a stop sign and failing to yield to Nick, abruptly entered his path. For those who know Nick, it's evident that he values safety and responsible riding. Despite his efforts to avoid the collision, he had no choice but to endure the impact. This catastrophic incident led to his hospitalization and, on May 28th, he underwent surgery. The severity of the crash resulted in the loss of his kneecap, forever impacting his ability to walk with ease. He has also suffered from a broken femur. He will not be able to leave the hospital for a few days, and will not be able to put any weight on his leg for at least 6 weeks.
Today, I reach out to our community, seeking your compassion and support for Nick during this challenging time. As a small business owner, Nick is faced with the harsh reality that our country's emergency safety nets fall short for individuals in his position. Together, we can make a difference. By extending our heartfelt wishes and contributing what we can, we can alleviate the financial burden that accompanies his recovery journey.
Thank you for taking the time to read this far, and on behalf of Nick, myself, and our cherished community of scooter and motorcycle riders, we sincerely hope to have your support.
