For Nick Chase

The culmination of medical bills from Nick’s cancer journey, plus the sting of costs to honor him with a celebration of life have placed this family in an uncomfortable position with covering expenses. Nicholas Adam Chase, husband, father, son, brother, and friend called Nick by all lucky enough to know him, was released from the pain in his physical body at the age of 44 on May 23, 2022. Nick passed in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family and loved ones after an excruciating 7 year journey with leukemia. Here is a small chapter of his story as written by his adoring wife, Heather Marie Chase:

Nicholas Adam Chase

October 14, 1977 - May 23, 2022

Nick grew up in Logan, Utah. One of his favorite memories was flying in on a helicopter in full mascot uniform to one of the big games at Logan High; go Grizzlies. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Phoenix in Business Management.

A natural leader, as general manager of Impact Valuation Group for the past four years with his firm; he not only made a successful mark in the business world, additionally he made such a personal and ever lasting impact on each one of his employees.

His charismatic personality and ease of conversation created a gravitational pull, which attracted friends in every aspect of his life; from making friends out of strangers, his employees, the amazing nurses at the BMT Unit at LDS hospital (who referred to him as Princess) and anyone that had the pleasure to meet him.

Nick always knew what he wanted and was determined to live life on his terms. Cancer may have been part of his journey these last seven years, but he never allowed that to define him. Nick understood the importance of making memories count, with an inspiring intention to truly live this life with his loved ones. He dedicated so much of his time and efforts, especially in his final years creating precious memories that we will cherish forever.

Nick had a love for aviation, which he shared with his father. He nurtured this love by going to airshows, working towards his pilot’s license at one point, to sitting on the front porch with an app telling him what plane was flying overhead along with where it was headed. He enjoyed many peaceful, therapeutic rides on his electric longboard. If he wasn’t working, spending Tuesday night with the boys, he was having one on one time with his kids or his wife. Nick loved to travel. He loved experiencing new places, though his favorite place was Mexico. Isla Mujeres, an island gem off the coast of Cancun, was the most special place for him. It is where he went after first being diagnosed with leukemia, and later going back to propose to his wife, along with returning together one last time as a family. He has said this is where we will always be able to find him once he left us on this mortal plane… sitting on the beach enveloped in the sun, watching the waves with his precious dog Chloe next to him.

Left to Cherish his memory is his wife Heather Marie, his children Ethan and Abbi, stepchildren Tristen and Peyton; his father Jim Chase, stepmother Adele Chase; and his siblings Susanne, Jake, and Jennifer. His mother, Deborah Rose, predeceased Nick.

To know Nick was to love him, and be loved. There was no question in the love he had for his children and would do anything for them. Being a father was his greatest and treasured accomplishments he took from this life; not only to his 2 children, but to his bonus children who affectionately refer to him as “B”. How incredibly blessed we all were to have such a father, a son, a brother, a friend, a colleague, and a husband to love. Nick’s memory and legacy will be one of compassion, love and unparalleled courage.
