My name is Dragana and I am here to ask for your help with raising money for my sweet baby grandson, who is only 9 months old. After a healthy and smooth pregnancy, we were more than excited to welcome healthy baby Dimitrije into the family. Until it was time for my daughter to actually go into labor. On January 16th of 2022, my daughter’s picture perfect pregnancy had come to an end. During labor, Dimitrije had been stuck in the womb, and left oxygen deprived for a horrific 25 minutes. Due to these unforeseen circumstances, doctors diagnosed him with Encephalopathy, this means that Dimitrije was deprived of oxygen causing the brain to swell. After many hopeless months of closed door and unsuccessful doctors visits, my daughter’s world had gone dark. But still full of hope for our baby boy, we continued to search for help. This was until we made it to Turkey, where we got our first glimpse of hope. An Institution in Istanbul, said they had what was needed to help Dimitrije and give us more intake on what the actual issue was. After these findings they were able to provide him with medication that has helped him already, specifically by allowing him to have some sleep. When I say some sleep, I mean it is his first time in his 9 months where he has slept for longer than 15 minutes. Additionally, the Istanbul institution has proven to be productive, but in order to continue and fully get better, Dimitrije would need to stay with them under complete doctor supervision for a year, but at the cost of €91,000 which is close to $89,600.
