Funds to fulfill My Mom's wishes!
Hi, my name is Ariel Mounce and my mom Terri has unfortunately became very sick and neither I or my dad thought it would be anything like this! On or about the 19th or 20th of May I noticed that my mom was breathing very heavy and she had complained that her right side had been hurting for awhile. She had went to the hospital for her right side hurting and nothing was found to be wrong so she was sent home. Well on the 21st of May my dad noticed that she was just getting worse and she had told him she felt like she was dieing. She is a very strong and stubborn women and doesn't like to listen to my dad so he came and got me. I looked at her and told her she had 15 mins to get up and we are going to the hospital. With in that time it took both myself and my dad to get her dressed she was not able to stand or walk unassisted. She told me to call 911 so I did, thinking to myself she is probably dehydrated and needs fluids, my mom has poor health as it is. When she arrived at the hospital my dad meet her there and not long after getting there she was then sedated and put on a ventilator, and diagnosed with having bilateral pneumonia. Days following we would find out that it was two different types of pneumonia, with also having another infection in her blood. They were able to fight the infection in the blood, thinking ok now we can just focus on the pneumonia. Well that ended up not being the case her kidneys started to shut down to the point of almost needing dialysis. But thankfully there was one medication they could try and it worked and got better over the course of 2 or 3 days. Then day 16 rolled around and was told that they could not get her to wean of the vent so they need to put a trach in and also a peg/g-tube. So surgery went well on day 17 and I was able to visit her and it was nice to see her beautiful face with no tubes. Yesterday day 19 she was off sedation all day and she was not able to follow any commands and was only able to open her eyes. So we are here day 20 and waiting for a social worker to get ahold of us. As my mom will need to be put into a skill facility which will be somewhere over in st. louis and we have no idea what the end result of this will be. We all trying to stay strong and support one another but its so hard! All I want is my mom back. I wanna hear her voice, show her pictures and tell her all the things that have been going on over the last 20 days.
With all that being said any little thing will help because honestly we don't know if this will be a week, a month, a year, or the worse possible outcome! If your not able to donate please feel free to share. Also if u have any stories of my mom, or pictures you would like to share I would absolutely would love that! Thanks so much in advance.
