For my final surgery.
Hello, my name is Victor Saucedo Islas,
I come to you to share with you a little of this unfortunate situation that is affecting me and my mother every day. I developed health problems that, to date, have not ceased.
On April 7, I was hospitalized at the IMSS in Cancun, Mexico, where I currently live; first I was diagnosed with problems with the appendix and the doctors decided to remove it. The next day I was checked by a surgeon who performed a CT scan and discovered that my real problem was several diverticula and some perforations in the small intestine, so I went went back to surgery. After about a week I was discharged, however, I returned to the IMSS on April 22 due to negligence with the previous surgery; that had serious consequences for me so on April 28 I was operated on again only that on this occasion there was no choice but to leave an open wound at the level of the navel and part of my small intestine outside. From that day on, any food I eat manages to get out through the perforations in my intestine and my body can't absorb all the necessary nutrients, the liquids that come out through the wound burn my skin and is very painful, and I am at risk of contract an infección which can complicate even more my health problems.
I can’t have a colostomy bag because the wound is too big and does not fit properly.
After these complicated surgeries I was hospitalized until August 20 and although they did not manage to close my wound or the perforations of the intestine, I was discharged from the IMSS Mérida i(UMAE), where I was sent, due to the complex situation I was, just to be discharged weeks later with the wound open
On the part of the insurance they are looking to schedule one more operation but until next year and without an scheduled date yet, under that situation a doctor with a specialty in gastroenterologist from a private hospital offered me his services immediately and with high technology, which for me and my mother gave us a little peace of mind, however, the cost of surgery is around $500 thousand pesos, which we can’t afford, we are a low income family, and due to my health situation is not possible for me to work or stay on my feet for long periods of time.
For this reason I come to you to ask for your compassion and help donating to have the surgery perform at the private hospital.
I see the need to resort to these means in order to visualize as soon as possible a dignified solution and thus be able to continue working to support my family.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much.
Vic.❤️
