For my brother Alfonso De Lira Piedra

On the afternoon of December 24, our beloved José Alfonso died in a motorcycle accident, after a pickup truck backing out of a driveway collided with him on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. We couldn't believe the news since he used to ride so attentively and responsibly. The PCH through Malibu was his favorite ride for its scenic beauty and always brought him happiness. His spirit was carefree, beautiful, kind and always positive. He moved to Los Angeles nine years ago and on Christmas day we took a flight from Mexico City to identify his body and say goodbye to my brother.

We are so devastated and trying to make sense of what happened. The stretch of PCH through Malibu has been under the spotlight after dozens of deadly accidents that have happened there over the past few years. Now, my brother sadly is among the victims of this dangerous road.

With your help we are hoping to cover the funeral, family expenses, and transportation to take his final remains back to Mexico City.
