Hi, my name is Astrid and I’m turning 11 next month.

This year I don't want birthday presents. Instead, please can you donate to help Huda and her family in Gaza.

My dad is a doctor and has been mentoring Huda, a young medical student who dreams of becoming a doctor to help her people. But right now, she’s just trying to keep her family alive.

Huda lives with her mum, two aunts, her sister Hadeel (19), her brother Mohammed (11), her little sister Alyazia (4), and five cousins – Maryam (6), Leen (4), Ahmed (10), Malak (2), and Hamza (3). Every day they are struggling to find food, clean water, and to stay safe during the war.

Food is very expensive in Gaza because of the blockade. This photo shows a lentil and flour soup that cost $90 to make.

My birthday wish is to help Huda’s family so they can buy food and not go to bed hungry.
