On the morning of Sunday, September 6th, Matt and Carolyn got the tragic news that their oldest son Milan had passed away in a car crash. He was on his way home to Evanston from meeting friends in Naperville and according to police reports, his death was instant. He leaves behind his loving parents and twin brothers. In spite of being diagnosed with autism at an early age, Milan blossomed into an amazingly articulate young man who was really into fitness and cars. While awkward at times, his differences made him an original and stand out in a crowd and he always said hello to anyone he met. He starred at cross-country at ETHS followed by a year at NIU. Many things about him will be missed, but probably the loud hip hop music and basketball in the alley past midnight, will not be.
Despite the pandemic, he did deliveries for Doordash and Postmates for the past year, but racked up quite some expenses with his new car, college and credit cards - that his dad had to co-sign on. I’m putting together this GoFundMe for them, to help with taking care of many of his bills, that are still being discovered. Any small contribution you make will be appreciated by them and will make a difference. Extra money will be donated to Police Reform which was one of Milan’s biggest passions this past year.
