For Mia and MiReyna
Donation protected
My name is Grace Gonzales, I am the aunt and surrogate grandmother of Mia and MiReyna Singleterry. I created this campaign to assist with funeral expenses and to ensure that all the girl's needs are met during this extremely difficult time.
I readily and lovingly accept the responsibility of caring for and raising these lovely young ladies to adulthood; however, I am near retirement and would greatly appreciate and humbly ask for your support of "my girls".
This past Mother's Days, 5/10/20, Mia and MiReyna's mother passed away suddenly. It was the worst Mother's Day ever. They had planned on baking a cake and brownies for all the mothers in our family, but it was not to be. Imagine their heartbreak when they heard the news about their mother passing early that morning.
Monica struggled to raise the girls as a single mother; they went through some very tumultuous times but even then, she was able to raise two impressive young ladies. I am so proud of Mia and MiReyna. I have watched them grow and blossom from little girls to young ladies. They are smart, mature, kind, thoughtful, and well mannered. They are both good students and are active in extra-curricular activities in school.
Mia will be a senior at W. B. Ray High School this fall and GOD willing will be a 2021 graduate. She will be attending college after graduation. Mia is maintaining a 3.8 GPA and is taking College Credit and Advanced Placement classes. She is also on the Lady Texan Varsity Soccer Team and volunteers at Driscoll Children's Hospital, she has accumulated a total of 140 hours of service. Mia was nominated and selected to be inducted into the National Honors Society. She also works as a lifeguard for the City of Corpus Christi.
MiReyna will be a freshman at Foy. H. Moody High School next year. She maintains good grades and participated in the cheer squad at Cunningham at South Park Middle School. She is a talented artist and enjoys theater arts, particularly set and costume design. I have some beautiful artwork that MiReyna has created, I cherish her art and have some up in my bedroom. She would like to play softball, so she plans to try out for the team next school year.
We will miss Monica dearly she was the "life of the party", always making us laugh. Monica was a peacemaker and a kindhearted person. She slipped away from us way before her time, she was only 46 years old; but she left us so many memories that we will forever treasure. She loved to take pictures, so we have many pictures to remember her by. May you rest in peace our dear dear Monica.
We ask for your prayers and thank you for your donation. May GOD bless you and reward you for your generosity and kindness.
